Simone Kopmajer’s new album “With Love“ was produced by John Di Martino, Reinhardt Winkler & herself.
The trio brought Simone’s vision of an intimate but rich sound to a point. Wonderful string arrangements played by Grammy Winning NY string quartet are surrounding her subtle vocals. “With Love” is a mix of old time classics, love songs and for the very first time two original compositions, definitely Kopmajers most romantic album in her incredible career on which she is proving again her different facets as a musician and vocalist.
Accompanied by Harry Allen, John Di Martino, Boris Kozlov, Reinhardt Winkler, Gottfried Gfrerer & Wesley Amorim , Simone Kopmajer turns her sensual vocals to songs like “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart“ (Bee Gees), “Cold Cold Heart“ (Hank Williams and the legendary “Over the rainbow“.
Another highlight on the album are the guest appearances of jazz legend Sheila Jordan and John Di Martino. With love is a must have for every fan and fan to be!

Simone Kopmajer - CHRISTMAS
Get into the holiday spirit with Simone Kopmajer´s album "Christmas“, a collection of 16 seasonal favorites like "Jingle Bells“, "The Christmas Song“ and "Baby, It´s Cold Outside“ along with songs from her homeland Austria with "Stille Nacht“ oder "Leise rieselt der Schnee“ , beautifully perfomed by grammy nominee John di Martino and his band featuring Terry Myers and Aaron Heick (Paul Simon, Chaka Khan or Barbara Streisand,...) and wonderful jazz & folk musicians from Austria on 4 European traditionals. The songs have been recorded in several studios in the USA and Austria presenting Christmas classics from all over the world. For the very first time some of these have been arranged featuring both a jazz band and traditional folk music instruments.

She has soul and a particular charismatic tone in her voice that gives each song that special something. Born in Schladming, Austria, Simone Kopmajer already achieved at a young age what many musicians, bands and ensembles dream of – the launch of a successful international career. In the United States, Japan and Southeast Asia, the singer is a household name for lovers of demanding and refined jazz music. She fills large concert halls, performs as the headliner of major international festivals and has sold thousands of CDs worldwide. Lo and behold, it seems as if only Austria is not quite aware of this outstanding and award winning singer.
In a time where everyone is complaining about declining CD sales, Simone Kopmajer managed the feat of selling more than 30,000 units of her album “Nothing’s Gonna Change” in Thailand last year. Not only is this a very impressive figure, in Thailand her release was also on the topof the list of the best-selling jazz albums of the year. Similarly impressive are the sales figures in Japan, where the Styrian-born musician made her breakthrough at an even earlier stage.
Her enthusiasm and love for music already kindled at a very early age. She began to sing at eight, with twelve she sang in the band of her father, who was a music school director and a big jazz fan, and at sixteen she was accepted at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, where she was immediately admitted due to her rare talent. During her studies, she was given the opportunity to work with many renowned artists such as Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Michele Hendricks, Jay Clayton and the New York Voices.
In the year 2000 she debuted in the U.S. and left a lasting impression among quite a few experts and connoisseurs of contemporary jazz music. Simone Kopmajer’s role models were the great voices of jazz and American show business, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Jon Hendricks, although over time the Styrian-born detached herself more and more from these influences to findher own musical language.
With her charisma and unbelievable talent, Simone Kopmajer manages to give her songs a very specific emotional, charming and in-depth note, which simply touches the people. Her sound is located somewhere between jazz, swing and tasteful pop. Although her music is very relaxed, flowing and elegant, it is also very playful and varied – these multilayered facets distinguished her early off from similar formats and made her music all the more interesting.
With her debut album “Moonlight Serenade”, which was released in 2004 and produced by Todd Barkan, the award winning singer was able to land respectable successes, especially in Japan. As a consequence, the singer was able to steadily increase her popularity from one album to the next. Unfortunately her albums were not available in Austria for a very long time. In 2009 her album “Didn’t You Say”, recorded in collaboration with stars such as George Mraz, Houston Person, Victor Lewis and James Genus , finally also opened the gates to the domestic market.
The probably largest success of Simone Kopmajer’s carreer was with her fifth album “Nothing’s Gonna Change” in 2011, which, as already mentioned, made her a celebrated star in new realms such as Thailand.
It is safe to say that Simone Kopmajer is on her way to the very top. With the ability to constantly raise her musicto the next level, we may assume that there is yet a lot more to come and it will be excitingto see where the journey will still take this exceptional singer.

SIMONE KOPMAJER – „WITH LOVE“
Die steirische Sängerin SIMONE KOPMAJER lässt auf ihrem neuen Album „With Love“ einmal mehr auf wunderbar schöne Weise Lieder vergangener Tage zu neuen werden.
Simone Kopmajer brilliert auf ihrem neuen Album „With Love“ als eine ungemein variable Stimme, die je nach Richtung eines Songs den immer passenden und vor allem unverwechselbar nach ihr klingenden Akzent zu setzen weiß. Wie man es von der aus der Steiermark geborenen und längst international bekannten Sängerin gewohnt ist, zeigt sie sich auch dieses Mal als eine Künstlerin, die in die unterschiedlichsten Rollen eintauchen und diese vollends mit Leben und Gefühl ausfüllen kann. Sie beherrscht den sanften, verträumten und melancholischen Ton ebenso meisterhaft wie den verführerischen, aufgeweckten und beschwingten, zudem bewegt sie sich problemlos zwischen den verschiedenen Genres hin und her und zeigt damit, dass sie wirklich absolut keine musikalischen Berührungsängste kennt.
KLASSIKER DER MUSIKGESCHICHTE IN EINEM NEUEN KLEID
In diesem Sinne offenbart sich auch das in den USA und in Österreich aufgenommene „With Love“ als ein ausgesprochen abwechslungsreiches und zugleich betörendes Hörerlebnis. Gemeinsam mit ihrer mit John di Martino (Piano), Harry Allen (Saxofone), Boris Kozlov (Bass), Reinhardt Winkler (Schlagzeug) hochkarätig besetzten Band (in einzelnen Stücken sind auch die beiden Gitarristen Gottfried Gfrerer und Wesley Amorim sowie ein Streichquartett zu hören) hat sich Simone Kopmajer einmal mehr auf eine Reise durch die Musikgeschichte des letzten Jahrhunderts gemacht und sich einiger der Jazz- und Popklassiker angenommen, um sie in neuem Klang und neuen Arrangements (für diese zeichnet sich John di Martino aus) wiederaufleben zu lassen. Aber nicht nur die Neubearbeitungen wissen zu überzeugen. Neben den ausgewählten Stücken wie etwa „Cold, Cold Heart“ von Hank Williams, „It´s Time for You to Go“ von Buffy Sainte-Marie oder „Over the Rainbow“ aus der Feder von Harold Arlen und Yip Harburg sind mit „Take it all in“ und „Opposites attract“ auch zwei eigene starke Songs der Sängerin auf dem Album vertreten. Und diese fügen sich perfekt in das Gesamtbild ein.
„With Love“ ist ein Album voller musikalischer Höhepunkte geworden, eines, das mit Songs gespickt ist, die sich ihren Weg sofort die Gehörgänge bahnen und diese auch nicht mehr so schnell verlassen. Simone Kopmajer liefert wie schon in der Vergangenheit eine beeindruckende gesangliche Perfomance ab, eine, die wirklich zu begeistern weiß und ganz dick unterstreicht, warum sie zu den führenden weiblichen Jazzstimmen des Landes zählt.

Simone Kopmajer - Christmas
Dass Simone Kopmajer Österreichs international erfolgreichste Jazzsängerin der Gegenwart ist, ist ja bekannt. Dass sie mit ihrer charismatischen Art jedes Publikum bei ihren Konzerten sofort in ihren Bann zieht, weiß man natürlich auch! ABER dass ihre große Leidenschaft Weihnachtslieder sind, erzählt sie uns erst jetzt und veröffentlicht auch gleich ein Album, auf dem sie noch dazu zum ersten Mal auf Deutsch singt.
Die Steirerin hat sich ja schon vor einiger Zeit aufgemacht, die Welt mit ihrer wunderbaren Stimme zu verzaubern. Unzählige Shows auf der ganzen Welt, Alben, Preise und jubelnde Zurufe aus der internationalen Presse haben Simone bis nach Asien begleitet, wo sie auf eine große Fangemeinde stieß.
Nun hat sich Simone Kopmajer entschlossen, sich einen lang ersehnten Wunsch zu erfüllen: Ein Weihnachtsalbum. Und es ist natürlich nicht einfach nur ein Weihnachtsalbum: Simone Kopmajer kombiniert erstmals Jazz -Weihnachtsklassiker mit traditionellen Österreichischen Volksliedern. „Zum ersten Mal singe ich auf meinem Weihnachtsalbum auf Deutsch, das war ein grosser Schritt und gleichzeitig aber auch so natürlich für mich. Es war mir ein Anliegen, meine zwei musikalischen Heimaten zu „verbinden““
An ihrer Seite finden sich Musiker aus New York wie der Grammy nominierte John die Martino, Boris Kozlov, Terry Myers oder Aaron Heick (Chaka Khan, Paul Simon, Barbara Streisand, Lady Gaga) und als Gastsolist der amerikanische Sänger Allan Harris, und neben Volksmusikern aus der Steiermark andere heimische Größen wie Geri Schuller, Beate Wiesinger, Reinhardt Winkler. Damit nicht genug konnte sie für das Album auch Ina Regen, Willi Resetarits, The Schick Sisters, Anna Catharina und Viktor Gernot als Duettpartner gewinnen.

Simones Song Auswahl ist einzigartig: neben Weihnachtsklassikern wie „White Christmas“, „Jingle Bells“ hört man auch besondere Versionen von „Stille Nacht“ oder „Leise rieselt der Schnee“. Eine stimmungsvolle Fusion unterschiedlicher Kulturen und Sounds findet hier ihre Vollendung.
